A Novel Hybrid LDC Converter Topology for the Integrated On-Board Charger of Electric Vehicles

Recently, the integrated On-Board Charger (OBC) combining an OBC converter with a Low-Voltage DC/DC Converter (LDC) has been considered to reduce size, weight and cost of DC-DC converters in EV system. This paper proposes new V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) auxiliary battery charge functions. In proposed converter, is composed bidirectional full-bridge active clamp circuit hybrid LDC Phase-Shift Full-Bridge (PSFB) forward converter. ZVS for all primary switches nearly ZCS lagging can be achieved operating conditions. secondary side additional capacitor two diodes employed oscillation voltage across rectifier eliminate circulating current. Since output connected series charger, energy from propulsion delivered during freewheeling interval it helps current ripple inductor, leading smaller volume inductor. A 1 kW prototype implemented verify performance topology. The maximum efficiency by experiments 96%.
